Mega Man Ultimate Network Uncut

Chapter 1: Enter the Network

A dark storm was upon Den City. A young six year-old boy wearing a blue rain poncho over a black shirt was heading home from school. He had brown and green eyes and his height was about 3 foot, four inches. The storm didn't seem to phase his happy mood because he was going to see his dad for the first time in ages. His father was always ultra busy with work. He was whistling a tune when he saw a young girl sitting at a bus stop bench alone and just one block from the boy's house. She was the boy's height with blonde hair and aqua blue eyes. She wasn't wearing a rain coat, but a magenta shirt and pale yellow blouse. The colors were darkened because the clothing was soaking wet.

"Hey?" The boy asked.

"Huh?" The depressed girl replied, looking up at the boy.

"Who are you waiting for?"

"My father...He's a busy police officer. I have never seen him."

"Wow. I'm lucky my dad gets a day off once a year. What's your name?"

"...I am called Iris."

"My name's-"

At that moment the boy's father wearing a crimson red rain jacket stepped outside to greet his son; he didn't want to keep him waiting. Most of the boy's physical traits came from him, like the brown hair. His eyes were hazel, meaning his son got his eye color from his mother. He was just as happy as his son, but it wouldn't last as he saw tragedy in the making. Not far a blue 2005 Infiniti QX, being driven by a man severely under the influence was speeding by. The wet road surface along with bad visibility with the rain splattering heavily on the windshield created the perfect combination of disaster. The drunk driver swerved and was heading straight for the boy and Iris. The caring father rushed trying to save the children but was too late. The SUV hit both kids and crashed into a tree.

"...Hold on, Son!" The father yelled, rushing to the scene of the accident and grabbing both the boy and Iris.

Both children suffered what seemed to be worse case scenario injuries. Glass shards from the side windows of the car landed into the two kids' tracheae, severe head bleeding, and lacerations all over. Iris was unconscious while the son was only barely conscious. He knew if they didn't get treatment now, death would be upon them incredibly quick. The caring father ran to the one place where he could get the two children help. With all his speed, he carried his only son and Iris in his arms and used his palms to cover the spot where the head hemorrhages came from.

"Dad..." The son said, crying in pain.

"Hang on son. We're almost there."

He wasn't taking them to the hospital but his office at the local college. It was like any office, bookshelf walls, marble floor, and a couple of rugs and a desk containing his computer. There he quickly pressed the key sequence, "Project Cyberworld, 2nd objective", then hit the enter key. One of the bookshelves opened up, revealing a pearl white futuristic staircase corridor descending into a chamber. When the dad got down that staircase, there was a completely white laboratory containing some ENIAC like computers, and what appeared to be about 500 capsules which could contain a full grown human being. Each capsule was pearl white, matching the room and each of them contained the necessities to survive as if they were in a hospital.

"Dad's research..." The father said.

The father placed Iris and his son in the two closest capsules and hooked the children up to about 50 nodes, all of them monitoring their health and vital organs. He then placed a breathing mask on both children.

"Listen son...we can't afford an operation for something like this scenario and Iris, I'll call your father tell him about the incident. I'm sure he'll understand. I'm using my father's life support system to keep you and your friend alive until we can get the funding to...Your bodies will have to stay here but I'll make sure your...souls...will still have pleasures of life." He had tears in his eyes as he closed the capsule hatches.

About 15 years passed since that accident. Life had seemed to have gotten brighter. The day was now July 16th. It was an ordinary morning at the Hikari Residence. The morning sunshine just made its way into 14 year old Lan Hikari's room, just tapping the solar sensor of the boy's Alarm Clock. The Clock's Alarm went off and Lan woke up and turned it off. He yawned and looked at the calendar. His birthday was just 8 days ago. Lan was born the son of Yuuichiro Hikari, a C++ Computer Programming professor at the Den City Institute of Technology, and Haruka Hikari, just an average housewife.

"Today's the big trip to America!" Lan exclaimed.

He quickly went into the hallway and went into the bathroom for a quick shower. First he turned on the sink and gave his face a quick wash. He saw his brown hair and brown eyes in the mirror's reflection. He turned off the sink and went into the shower. A quick lather later Lan got out and went back into the bedroom and got dressed. Lan grabbed his usual attire, a brown shirt and blue shorts out of his dresser and put them on. He grabbed a duffel bag containing his clothes out under his bed and placed the strap around his shoulder. Lan also took some comic books for the trip. Collecting comic books was his favorite hobby. He had exited the room when he realized he forgot to grab his fire red tennis shoes. He then went though the hallway again and out to the kitchen.

"Hi Mom!" Lan said taking a few quick bites into his breakfast, two eggs and four sausage links.

"Hi sweetie!" She replied. "Are you ready for that big trip of yours?"

"Sure thing!" Lan finished his breakfast and headed outside.

It was a beautiful day. It was sunny, a few clouds in the sky and it felt like 69 degrees Fahrenheit. There was a breeze to the northwest. Lan sighed. He headed towards the middle school where everyone was supposed to be before the trip was to begin. He made it to the front doors when he crossed paths with a friend of his. She was just about Lan's height with pink dyed hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a red shirt and a blue blouse and brown shoes. Her name was Mayl Sakurai. Her birthday was April 16th and was the same age as Lan. While Lan was an average student, Mayl was the class perfectionist. She had the top grades with a 4.0 grade average in all of her classes. She played the flute in the school's marching band, she was on the national honor roll, and was president of the school music club. She was the daughter of the famous Yuki Sakurai, a world famous composer. Many of her classmates, Lan included, called her a symbol of purity.

"Hiya Lan!" She greeted him as the two of them walked inside the school.

"Hey, Mayl, you ready for the best trip ever?" Lan replied, eager with excitement.

"Well..."

"I'm sure I am!" Another voice interrupted.

Lan and Mayl turned around. There was another kid behind them. He was taller than the both of them by 2 inches. He had a brown Mohawk and green eyes. He was wearing a brown soccer shirt with black stripes, the school colors, and his name: Dex and the #20 on the rear of the shirt. He was also wearing greens but his shirt covered most of it. He had on yellow soccer shoes but with the cleats removed. Dexter "Dex" Ooyama was captain of the local middle school soccer team, the Den City Junior High Boulders. He had led the team to 6 victories, 2 losses and 1 tie.

"I can't wait to try this new sport my cousin Chiaso's talking about." He said.

"What's it about?" Mayl asked curiously.

"It's a one-on-one combat sport, now get this...that our net navis compete in."

Lan looked a bit worried.

"Something wrong?" Mayl asked.

"My dad's fixing up my PET right now. I hope he get done before I go." Lan answered

"Why is he fixing it? Did you break it?" Dex questioned.

"Don't worry, I'm sure he will." Mayl responded, trying to cheer him up.

"Hopefully..." Lan responded calming down, "I don't want to miss out on the action. So who came up with the idea?"

"I don't know, and neither did my cousin."

Meanwhile on the other side of the globe, more specifically the Californian coast, a firm and stout businessman was walking down a corridor of a business complex. His brown hair was trimmed formally and his blue eyes were prominently bright thanks to his contact lenses. He was wearing a silver business suit fresh from the wash. The suit's gear silver tie was recently ironed. The businessman was wearing black formal shoes so polished that a mirror could catch its own reflection in them and he was also carrying a gold briefcase. Another colleague soon joined him. As the two of them walked together you could definitely tell the contrast in looks and hygiene. The businessman in the silver suit had a fresh clean face, thoroughly washed and hair properly trimmed while the colleague on the right had dirty dark skin with black hair with dandruff that almost looked like lice eggs. His suit was stained with grease, mud, grass, coffee and even those stains had stains on them, also it looked like a rat was crawling in the sleeves. His shoes had holes in them. His teeth were pure yellow and his breath had caused reports of a few sensitive workers fainting.

"Ah, Mr. Swipeson, Director of Competition Monitoring." Said the clean businessman.

"Hmph, Gearbit, Director of Industrial Management." Swipeson said rudely.

"Mr. Dassamen summoned us for an important meeting." Gearbit told politely.

"I don't care," Swipeson replied, "I got a golf game with 20 congressmen after this."

The two entered the executive's office. It was on the top floor and the window in front of them gave a very good look of the city. The room had a blue rug and a couple of seats and tables for meetings.

"Ah, Swipeson, Gearbit. Please sit." A voice behind the executive desk said.

Gearbit and Swipeson took their seats both near the executive desk.

"This is about the path of the company as presumed in the memo, sir?" Gearbit asked.

The Executive's chair turned around. It was a man, strong in wealth and power and prestige. He had hazel eyes with brown hair and a beard of the same color.

"It is indeed." Dassamen replied. "Research and Development have created this, a new type of weapon meant for navis." He placed something on his desk and Gearbit picked it up.

"It is a chip, sir." Gearbit said, "Apparently to be placed in the data input slot of a PET, The Palm Ethernet Transport"

"Good deduction Mr. Gearbit. This chip will be a vital part of that which Research and Development have managed to apply as a form of a game. They call it..."

"What do you mean a game?!" Swipeson rudely interrupted, angrily slamming his fist on the desk, "This company is a defense contractor of 30 years for crying out loud!"

"Swipeson, this is not a prudent form of conduct in front of Mr. Dassamen." Gearbit asserted. "Please, Mr. Dassamen."

"Thank you Gearbit, as you know many defense contracting corporations had declared bankruptcy in the last several years now due to an era of peace. If Darkness Technologies must survive we must take a new path." Dassamen reasoned.

Swipeson was even more annoyed, "We've been gnawing the competition and asserting ourselves as the #1 contractor and that's why the other businesses are dying; not because of this stupid world peace." Swipeson defended.

"Many other nations have begun declining and terminating contracts and Darkness Technologies have begun a profit loss." Gearbit defended his side of the debate, definitely opposite of Swipeson's.

"That is true." Dassamen supported. "Accountants have predicted we might end up bankrupt as well by the next fiscal year. If we support this combat sport, profits should be at new record high."

"They're nothing but a bunch of biased suck-ups!" Swipeson aggressively bashed. "And besides, this new game will decline the value of the company stock! Our shareholders will think that you've gone mad! All we need to do is simply sell more weapons and start a war."

"If we continue our previously proposed business plan, the company will sink into bankruptcy and everyone will lose. Darkness Technologies has over 7 million employees in our international payroll and will send the international unemployment rate skyrocketing." Gearbit once again defended, and he then turned to Swipeson, holding back the anger of his fellow director's latest argument, "And furthermore, what kind of human would think of creation of war as a method for corporate survival. If the International Official Law Enforcement Bureaucracies found out about your plan..."

"WHO @$%#ING CARES! ONE: THEY'RE JUST LABOR! AND TWO: WE HAVE ENOUGH PROFIT AND REVENUE TO BRIBE ANYONE TO SHUT THE..."

"Swipeson, you are behaving in the most unprofessional manner, and even in front of the company president!" Gearbit asserted again, this time losing a bit of his patience.

Swipeson's anger manifested long enough and he finally took his wrath out on Gearbit with a firm punch, but Gearbit grabbed the fist, firmly grasping it.

"SWIPESON, FOR THE FINAL TIME, CALM DOWN." Gearbit demanded.

Swipeson let go of his fist and marched out of the office angrily.

"I'll make sure this never gets past the board of directors! You hear me! I'll rule Darkness Technologies one day and I'll use it to make sure the world is at constant war!" Swipeson yelled. He slammed the door on the way out.

"My apologies for the outburst Mr.Dassamen." Gearbit apologized.

"There was no need."

"I'll have factories A30 to C24 put these...What are these chips called Mr. President?"

"Battle chips, Gearbit."

"Thank you sir, I'll have factories A30 to C24 put these battle chips to full production at 379% efficiency. Then I'll set up warehouse E-14 for shipping preparation and..." Gearbit announced before Mr. Dassamen cut him off.

"You are such a bureaucrat, please...show me results, not forms and plans."

"My apologies again sir, I'll start right away." Gearbit replied

Gearbit got off his seat and headed out of the office. He made his way outside the door when he saw a teenager possessing Mr. Dassamen's hair color. He had green eyes, bangs, and a cowlick on an eyebrow and was wearing glasses. He was also wearing a white shirt and light brown pants.

"Overhearing the conversation, I presume Stuart Dassa..."

"It's Von Dassamen, it makes it sound cooler." Stuart interrupted.

"You have tutelage to get to." He reminded

"I've already done it and they're teaching the same crud over again."

"That's no reason to cut..."

"I don't care." Stuart replied, this time leaving.

Gearbit sighed.

"And he's the company heir." He said to himself.

As for Stuart he was walking down to the elevator. Many employees were referring to him as the company heir, the next president and their future boss. Stuart hated that. All he wanted was friendship, all his life he had never met someone his age. As he went down the elevator he began browsing the memories of his childhood. It was always tutelage from company directors, training him to run the company when Mr. Dassamen passed away.

He walked back to the family mansion, a place that was on the far edge of town. As he walked, he saw teens, college students and kids, all just enjoying life, playing with friends, hanging out and whatnot. As he walked he saw Swipeson inside a typical standard black limo. One of the windows was open.

"Dassamen, He knows jack squat about corporate business. If it wasn't for those to two kids of his, He would have given the company to me. It should be rightfully mine..."

Stuart could tell he was off the deep end as the limo pulled away.

On the other side on the nation in New York City, domestic abuse was erupting in a luxurious mansion on top of a skyscraper. The two sons, Eugene and Benjamin, were hiding behind the master bedroom door, hearing the punches and slams along with their father's vulgar language.

"Dad's really gone off this time." Benjamin, the younger of the two of them, said.

Benjamin had blonde hair with brown eyes. He was 13 years of age while his older brother was 15. A loud thud was heard and then a bulge on the wall that almost looked face-like appeared between the two of them.

"... I'm going in. Mom can't take anymore of this." Eugene said.

Eugene had black hair, his father's color, which he dyed silver. He did not want any resemblance to old man at all. His eye color was hazel which was luckily his mother's. Both kids were the sons on the great Anthony Chaud, head of IPC or International Personal Credits, a huge banking firm all over the globe. Eugene's life had been nothing but abuse from his father and forcing to take care of his brother. Anthony was an alcoholic when alone and was incredibly ticked when intoxicated. He would often get into arguments and beat up someone, usually his wife or his son.

"Eugene," Ben said, grabbing Eugene by the arm, "Please before you hurt yourself again."

"Call me Chaud!"

"Eugene!"

"LET GO!" Eugene replied back, forcing an elbow into Ben's jaw to make him let go.

Chaud opened the door and walked in, trying to breaking up the fight. Ben could just hear from the sidelines.

"Dad! Please! Stop hitting..."

"Eugene! Not Now!"

Ben then heard another crash.

"Benjamin!"

Benjamin quickly fled, but as for Chaud...

"You little brat! Why can't go study?" Anthony asked

"Because I'm never going to be like you!" Eugene replied.

Anthony kicked Chaud in the jaw.

"You're making me sick Eugene! Now get out!"

Anger and hate were burning in Chaud's eyes.

"I SAID GET OUT!"

It took two punches in the chest and a beer bottle into the side of the head to get Chuad out of the room.

"Are you crying again Chaud? Sir?"

Chaud looked down to the pocket containing a crimson and silver PET, his PET. He got it out and there was his navi, Proto Man, a navi donning crimson torso armor and silver gauntlets and boots. Shades and with a scarlet helmet with two fins at the top consisted of the head armor.

"Proto Man, please leave me alone."

"Very Well."

Back at the other side, The Bus containing Lan's class had arrived at the airport. Lan got off the bus along with Mayl and Dex. Lan was getting a bit worried; it was still about getting his PET fixed before the plane left.

"Come on, hurry." Lan said to himself.

His teacher was telling the class about being on their best behavior. She was just getting at the end of it when she looked at Lan.

"Oh and Lan..." She said.

"Yeah?"

"Your father told me to give this to you."

Lan's worries seemed to vanish. It was his PET, back from repairs. Its main color scheme was navy blue as the primary color and black as the secondary. It was meant to be held with one hand while another was used to press the buttons on it.

"All right!" He thought.

Lan turned it on. It took a while for it to load. When it did a navy blue navi was on the screen. He had green eyes and 3 silver crests on his helmet with gloves that were a light shade of blue and with boots of the same color. His torso armor had two golden stripes that intersected the emblem, the only way to tell who their operators were.

"Mega Man! I'm so glad you could make it!" Lan told his navi.

"Yeah! I've been waiting a long time for this."

Lan nodded and headed back to the group. He sat down on a chair next to Mayl and Dex.

"You seem better. Did you get your PET back in time?" Mayl asked.

"Sure did! I can't wait to try out that new sport." Lan replied.

"Hope you prepare to have your first fight a loss after Guts Man gets through with your navi." Dex announced confidently.

"Not if Mega Man can kick Guts Man's butt to the curb - and he will!" Lan replied even cockier.

Soon Lan and Dex were arguing whose navi would beat the who.

"Boys..." Mayl said to herself "Always bragging."

The argument waged on until...

"Okay class, the plane is ready to take off. Please grab your belongings and make sure you leave nothing behind."

"Yes Ms. Mari." The class replied. Everyone grabbed their supplies and headed into the airport loading docks.

"I wonder what the USA will be like." Lan mused aloud.

"We'll just have to wait and see." Mega Man suggested.

Lan took out a pamphlet which contained all of the destinations to which he and the class would be headed on the trip.

"Let's see... Crescent City, home to the... famous Punk Skates Skateboarding Fest... Crab Races... Darkness Technologies International and...," Lan said, skimming though the city description until something in there caught his eye, "And the center of the increasingly popular navi combat-sport: Netbattling!"

"Well then, I can't wait to go there." Mega Man replied, containing the same enthusiasm as Lan.

Lan quickly caught up with the group which was now entering the plane.

"I hope I can make this trip the best of one of my life." Lan thought to himself.

It would be, not because of having memories with friends and romances but due to an adventure to stop a sinister crime organization from taking over the entire world. An epic adventure in which he would discover talent, power and truth, he would have journeys in new lands, have relationships put to the test and discover shocking truths.

Chapter 1 Extras: Elements of Mega Man Ultimate Network

Alright, Mega Man Ultimate Network is, what is called around here, Fan Fiction or fanfic for short. This can be one the run of the mill fanfic, with the typical problems, like Mary Sues, bad villains and shortness of chapters etc. This is what I'm trying to avoid, and by doing so I'm trying to keep each chapter at least 15 pages long on Microsoft Word, Times New Roman font, size 12. By fanfiction.net rating standards I want to make a PG-13 story, because there are going to be some adult themes like alcohol use and consumption, and mild language.

Some characters here have symbolizations, representing a moral or a philosophy. Gearbit for example symbolizes business ethics and bureaucracy. Swipeson on the other hand, symbolizes corporate greed; he is ultra obsessed with money and usually expensive objects and it means bribery, stealing, theft, blackmail and even murder in order gain more money in his sea of greed. He doesn't care about anyone but himself and those who give him money.

In-Depth Bios (Non spoiler details):

Dexter "Dex" Ooyama: Dex's past is a bit of an oddball. His father immigrated to America from Japan, got married but two years later, a month after Dex was born, they divorced, his dad got custody of Dex and returned to Japan. Over the years, custody battles threw his life into complication thus sometimes Dex gets depressed when he's alone. However around his friends Dex always has high self esteem and the guts to take on anything. Before he had heard of Netbattling, Dex had plans and dreams to join a professional soccer team and represent Japan in the World Cup.

Eugene Chaud: As mentioned, Eugene is born the heir of International Personal Credits Banking Firm. His Nationality is American and was born on April 14th. Chaud as he calls himself is someone who yearns to have a different image from his old man, mainly due to the abuse and neglect he receives from his father. After he finishes High School, Chaud plans to legally change his name to Chaud Blaze in an attempt to disconnect himself from the family. A very strong weakness in Chaud is that he is incredibly insecure. He's desperate to find a way to protect his mother, Ben, and himself, even if it means crime, theft or murder.

Geoff Gearbit: Gearbit was a born a hardworking man in Pittsburg. His father worked in a steel mill and throughout his high school years, Geoff joined him. After Graduation, he attended in Penn State with a major in business management; Geoff had plans to form his own steel mill. However when Stuart's father formed Darkness Technologies, Geoff bought some stock options, and those stock options rose and put Darkness Technologies on top in about half a decade.
