More Downloads

This update brings something a little different to the site. Megaman fonts. Actual fonts used in some MM games which can be used using a program called Bitmap Font Writer. If this turns popular I may make more fonts, but only time will tell. E-mail me with Megaman-related font requests and I’ll see which one’s popular. Download the Megaman font pack in the Downloads section!

Guides, Wallpapers

After so much positive feedback from the “Ultimate MM3 team” project I may make a few more redesigns along those lines. But I haven’t yet.

Today’s update has a few “lost” guides. My guide to the Pokemon Anime (somewhat dated) and my guide to unnecessary translations (actually inspired by a REAL EVENT!). These guides are written at 3AM so they feature me being slightly …… annoyed. So, have fun! Both of these can be found in the “Gauntlet’s Guides” section.

The Wallpapers section has seen an update. Not only have I completed a Needleman wallpaper, but I have also added another size as I said I would once the poll tied. Yes, that’s right. TWO sized. Not 4. The stretcher on Windows isn’t THAT bad. But I do see a point to having a size larger, so there you have it.

The Wallpapers are in the Downloads section. And I think Needle’s my best work yet.

Wallpapers

Well it’s been a week and no access to the Classic Gaming stuff yet. I guess I’ll never have that handy redirect. BAH! Lessee, in a month I went from 900+ daily hits to 600+ when I said I’d take a small break, to 100 + hits now. Quite a change in fortunes, I must admit.

BAH! I did the affiliates thing so I wouldn’t HAVE to advertise anymore! Oh well……. Once the search engines kick in I’ll feel better. After all, that’s where the majority of hits came from. That and the Bob and George forums advertising my sprite tutorial. I love those guys.

My energy this week has been mostly to get Iceman and the Sinister Six moved to this server. I gotta say we’re making great time. I’d say we have …… oh, about 95 % of the site done. All that’s left is two sections, really. And I don’t think there’s any more broken links left in the site. Hey, I could be wrong, so if you find one e-mail me, but I don’t think there are.

If anyone visits this place to get the 411 on Planet Megaman, our esteemed hosts, and wants to know how long we’ll be until we’re back again ….. I dunno. It seems most of the files have been uploaded. Nothing was lost in, what I refer to as, “the Classic Gaming immaturity incident”. Most of what’s going on now is giving the site some new features and a slightly different look. I don’t think it’ll be too long.

So, what update does that leave for THIS site? Well, I took the time to make a real nice Snakeman wallpaper continuing my “Wallpapers for all the MM3 TV show guys” project. Who’s next? Who knows! You can find the wallpaper in the Downloads section under (guess what?) wallpapers!

A Surprise new site!

So there I was, casually surfing the net, when Classic Gaming pulled the rug right out from under my site! And not JUST my site …….. every site UMMXZ was hosing including Planet Megaman. No e-mail, no message left, no warning. Nuthing.

And this suits me just fine since I had just finished setting everything up at the new URL which you have obviously found if you’re reading this.

Of course I’d LIKE to have set up a redirect for a while. That’d be nice. But that ain’t happening, at least not in the foreseeable future. So, good-bye Classic Gaming and Hello Zelda Universe (via Planet Megaman).

Everything here has been set up to work with two exceptions. The roms and the A-H speak section. Why? Well, I never intend to update the roms. Ever. And the Xtreme Team ……… has been dealt with in such a way that I’m satisfied. Seeing as that’s that I probably won’t return the A-H speak section anytime soon, but …… you never know.

And so here we are. Two years after we moved to Classic Gaming. Hopefully this place will be even bigger and better.

New Snakeman, Epilogues, Wallpapers

Another week another update. Unless you count that html thing I did yesterday morning an update. That would make two.

So, first you may notice we have a new Snakeman. Mostly because Hexlaser’s e-mail stopped working one day and that’s all I have to keep in contact with the guy. So, he has now been replaced with Raijin K! You folks may also remember him as Skullman EXE from Viral Infection. This guy has been hanging around the forums for a while so the odds are he won’t disappear like our last Snakeman. Hooray!

Next up is an update for the epilogues. We’re heading towards the final stretch of Series 4 and it comes to a boil in our current epilogue. So, check it out!

Next up is a new wallpaper. Ever since I made those Megaman screen captures, I figured they’d be good for wallpapers (which are in the downloads section, BTW). So I did one. Shadowman! I’d say this is some of my better wallpaper work, so check it out!

Epilogues, Image Gallery, Sprite Gallery, Guide, Downloads

Another week, another update.

Well I am pleased to announce our counter has reached 100,000 hits today! Breaking 6 digits feels really good to me and I thank all my loyal viewers for support.

Series 4 of the epilogues continues with War Between Wilys. The Mechanical Maniacs finally face off with the powerful True Chimeraman!

The Image Gallery receives an update in the “Others” section. A picture of Megaman cosplay I took when I was at Anime North a few weeks ago. A kid dressed as the original Megaman. While the helmet isn’t quite right, it’s still …. adorable really.

The Sprite Gallery has seen another update. Specifically the sprite group shot. It now goes up to Megaman Zero 2 including even those stupid resistance guys.

A new Gauntlet’s Guide has been posted. My guide to why I consider games like Megaman PC in continuity. See, the vast majority of people I talked to seem to regard those types of games with disdain and not even Capcom products, really …… so I decided to write my opinion. Kind of the minority report of the MMC.

Finally, I have added a new section in the rightframe. The Downloads section. It WAS in the miscellaneous section once, but no one really figured to look there.

Finally, I would like to announce a victory in the team-scene. I have managed to un-hack Ice’s Eye-Lephant account. So Ice now has access to it and the last of the whole “hacking” thing has been wiped clean. Huzzah!

Epilogue, Megaman 2 book

Once again our ongoing series of epilogues have been updated! This time with an epilogue by Geminiman – Battle in the Bar! So go there and read the epilogue for a dose of fun and excitement!

Also, a rare occurrence – a new section in the right frame! The Megaman 2 book! You see, there once was a book made for children by Schoolastic and it has been relatively obscure and known to but a few ….. until now! For I have FULLY scanned it in! From the same guy who scanned in Nintendo Power’s images I bring you – the crappy novelization of Megaman 2!

Epilogue, Music, tidying up

A new epilogue has been posted. “Mystery of the Cossack bots” by Geminiman.

I’ve added one new file to the music section, but it’s a doozy! The Megaman 3 NSF file. You’ll need Winamp and a plugin to play it. It has the complete Megaman 3 soundtrack including sound effects.

Speaking of the Music section, it has been moved to the Misc. section under downloads. Game Graphics and Mangas have been moved to the image gallery. And the Gallery itself has been organized further, separating ripped sprites from custom works.

The affiliates have been moved to the right frame using some fancy HTML script. So now they appear on just about every single part of this site.

*Update a few hours later* Was board and decided to take out background MIDIs in the bios (finally) and replaced them with Play/Stop MIDI controls. Killed a few minutes….

Epilogue, Guides, Forum

We’re back with more stuff. Because of some server things, Geocities and most MM teams are down. Also down is the roms section. But it should be fixed soon.

A new epilogue is up continuing Geminiman’s search for his past. “Run in at N. Sanity beach”.

I’ve also decided that, since we have more space now, I can finally do the entries in the Character Shrines correctly! I’ve also decided to move all those entries to the guides section, since they are more like opinion pieces. So, go to the guides section to check out entries on Galvatron, Bizarro Yellow Lantern and Power Ring! The rest should be done relatively soon.

Also, major forum revisions! It’s now “Megaman United”. Most of the MM team forums are somewhat …. inactive no matter how successful our pages may be. So now, instead of having several so-so forums, we have combined into one grant forum!

Well, that’s about it for this week. There’s allot I’d like to do now that I have the space for it. Ah, once again I gotta thank ZXP for the space!

Second Year Anniversary! Grand reopening!

We’re back ladies and gentlemen! On a bad-ass server with more room, more bandwidth and more technical support! This move couldn’t have happened at a better time either for it is (as I have mentioned before) our second year anniversary. Outlasting the vast, vast majority of Megaman Teams, the Mechanical Maniacs have survived and prospered.

The first update you should notice is that I added new custom mugshots to replace the old mugs from multiple games. This is to reflect the image I want to maintain for the team. Another cosmetic update is that I have removed the comet cursor from the page. Apparently many people didn’t like it, but were “too nice to tell me”!!! OY! Perhaps next time I ask for feedback, more people will say something.

I have removed the A-holes speak section. Classic Gaming prohibits the massive swearing and racially offensive remarks usually thrown at us by people in the section. I was given the option of merely censoring it, however, it serves little purpose anymore so I removed it. I don’t update the section anymore anyway so I was toying with the idea of removing it before the big move. However, the “Book of Larceny” can still be accessed in the miscellaneous section for it’s the very best out of that entire section. Also added to the miscellaneous section is the polls once found in the left frame.

Another new epilogue has been posted continuing the adventures of the Megaman 3 Team. Who can stop them from littering our planet with their garbage?? Read “Littering is Bad For Our Planet!” by me – Gauntlet!

The Guestbook has returned. I think the insanity has died down by now. At any rate, it’s now being maintained by Geminiman, not I.

Also returned is the roms section featuring pirate and freeware roms. If you don’t get my meaning it has LEGAL NONCOMMERCIAL roms. No licensed Megaman games. Find your illegal stuff elsewhere, you hooligans! The Mechanical Maniacs respects and maintains the integrity of the video game industry and will never aid you all in your evil quest to rip them off! *laughs* You can find pirate games in there though. Kick ass rare pirate games which is what I love about the emulation scene.

The image gallery now includes the Super Transforming Metool animation I made of the 8-bit metool. A 328 frame animation. It’s probably the LAST animation I’m gonna do for a very long time. Also new in the gallery is Neo Geo Pocket single sprites. Rare as can be these sprites can be found no where else! Well, that is until Sprites Inc. finally gets around to fully ripping them.

And now the Game Graphics section has been fully completed. I had originally planned on stretching out the releases for the level maps over a long course of time, however, I decided to stop playing these games and so the section now has the last of the MM3 robot master level maps available for you to download!

I also found a new team to the links section. However, it had already disbanded when I found it. Cossack’s Soldiers. If you know of any Megaman team NOT on my list, whether it be active or disbanded tell me. Updating that list is a fun hobby! I also added the Ultimate Megaman X and Zero Webpage to the links section. They were kind enough to host us, and their site beats all anyway!

Lastly, and most importantly, I have added a new, long-awaited section. The manga scans featuring selected art from the Rockman Megamix mangas! The selection is pretty decent and is sure to grow with time! No, these are not the same images you’ve seen in a dozen other Megaman sites, these images have been scanned by me, Gauntlet, from my own collection. Satisfaction guaranteed!!
