Starcrossed Part 2

The conclusion to the long awaited Mechanical Maniacs / Annihilation crossover! Featuring the return of the most specific of all Mechs incarnations – the Mechanical Maniacs.exe! Everyone groans as the Mechs are forced to once more don their Navi forms to team up with the Net Navis of Annihilation. Things go crazy, so check out the latest instalment for both teams – Starcrossed Part 2.

Also, some more 8-bit versions of Mechanical Maniacs (and Sinister Six) epilogue characters by geno2925. As well as Crorq’s own custom weapon – the Chicken Buster and Gravy Train! Gotta say, I love that Colonel Sanders weapon icon. That’s perfect. See more gift sprites in the Miscellaneous Sprite Gallery.

EDIT: Rai here. I actually had a few more things to add that I probably should have remembered to tell Gauntlet about before the scheduled update. Now that Starcross is all up, check out my Art Gallery for all the design sketches I could dig up from when I started planning versions of this story way back in 2008. I’ve also updated the Navi Marks page with the symbols of all the Crossed characters. I also quietly added marks for Mighty No.9 characters a couple months ago, right after the game’s release. Kinda just wanted to slide those in there without making a big deal about it.

Starcrossed Part 1

It’s been years in the making, but it’s finally time. Time for the long awaited Mechanical Maniacs / Annihilation crossover! Yes, ever since Rai merged his team’s content with ours I’ve kinda been pushing for a crossover. And, after eight years here we are. So check out the latest instalment of both teams – Starcrossed Part 1.

Also, check out this General Cutman fan art by Kaity-Chameleon.

The Mechs Meet and Art

It came, it rocked, and now it’s over. And once more a log of this year’s Mechs Meet is now up. This time it’s brought to you by none other than myself (with some additions by Magnet and Snake) instead of just Snake himself taking notes. So it’s a slightly different flavor of log this time around.

And here’s some long-awaited art I’ve wanted to add to the galleries. I’ve been saving these for a rainy day, but there’s actually a backlog of content to be posted, so the sooner, the better! Here’s some recent-ish art I made inspired by Captain N and some old Megaman Team Community Christmas art made when that was a whole thing. It features the Mechs, so I figured I’d post it up here.

Taiwanese PC Games Found

That’s right, not only have I found all the Taiwanese PC games, but I’ve also put the graphics in the gallery. I wish I could be more excited about it, but that sheet up there really is the most exciting things about the find.

Some of the dash images are mirrored and rotated for some reason. There’s too many for me to sift through and they’re inconsistent at that. I eliminated the vast majority of uninteresting images and tried to separate everything out nicely. So, view the galleries for:

Rockman’s IQ Challenge
Rockman Dash: To Save The World Adventure
Rockman X Mathematics Tornado
Rockman’s IQ Challenge – junk
Rockman X Mathematics Tornado – junk
Rockman Dash: To Save The World Adventure – junk

And download the games for yourselves here!

TM3 Spark Concept

In the spirit of better late than never, this update showcases Rich’s concept sketches for the new Sparkman. As you can see, we went over a few color options for the highlights.

Belated Happy Birthday

Captain N’s origin for Mega Girl is actually pretty weird when you factor in later games. MMs 1-2 didn’t have the whole family theme to them.

Shadowman TM3

Here’s the last of my TM3 portraits – Shadowman. I tried to remember how I drew the old TM2 version and apply that here, especially the head, but it wound up being an entirely different shape anyway.

Mechs Meet 2014

Just over a month ago, Gauntlet, Needlegal, Rich, our new Sparkman, and I converged on Topman’s home city of Montreal for our (almost) annual (usually) summer meet-up. As usual, I’ve chronicled our shenanigans with a log and photo gallery. Special thanks to Rich for contributing to the write-up and to Spark for contributing to the pics!

Snakeman TM3

Here’s Snakeman’s full portrait art for his "Transmetal 3" look. The pose looked lot better in pencil. I was sorta going for a classic MM Robot Master pose (like the ones found in the manual), but it just didn’t work. Unfortunately I only noticed that after it was all done.
