No Update ….. Sort of ….

Well, there’s sort of been an update ….. I’ve been fixing alot of the back-end code stuff. Hopefully those with slower modems will notice a difference….

Of, and be sure to visit the forums. And to design a villain for the Design a Villain contest.

Feb 11th Update: Decided to re-code the entire site in XHTML. I figured this would be fast with my HTML prog, but ….. naturally trhere were bugs. ALOTTA bugs. SHOULD have fixed ’em all by now, though. An, hopefully …. the site will run alot faster now. And if it doesn’t, then …. I’ll just stab myself in the leg …. or something.

Lennon Stuff and More

Yes, Lennon, I finally updated your gallery.

Lennon’s made a whole bunch of Mechanical Maniacs cards based on the VS System employed by Marvel and DC. If you’re a fan of our epilogues these are a must-see as they tie in with many of our past adventures.

I’ve also merged Lennon’s old (and now outdated) calendar into his gallery.

Per her request I’ve added Quickman’s Iceman Tribute picture to the Iceman Tribute page and also the Misc. Image gallery. Take care, Quick!

In other news … we switched nameservers because of the recent site slowdown and spontaneous shutdowns. Hopefully that’ll fix things.

Long story short: I cannot work with Nyne anymore. Working on MMC was one, big, uphill battle. And I’m through with it.

So we’ve moved from MMC! Now we’re with the Sinister Six on our own space and forum! So …. be there or be square!

Gauntlet’s Guide to Galvatron Mk2

With Unicron seeing a Guide, is it a surprise to find that I’ve written a new guide to Galvatron as well?? Well, it shouldn’t be!

This guide has a detailed analyses of the evolution of Galvy’s design. From his toy version, to his comic version and the TV magazine version – no stone is left unturned!

I’ve also reformatted the EXE guide and the MM3 guide to reflect the layout of the site and not to have their own layouts. Just seems more professional…

It’s time to wind Series 5 down to a close. And to start is The ‘Maniacs Meet Megaman Part 1. It’s finally time for the Mechanical maniacs to meet their old blue nemesis!

In other news, I tweaked the profiles so they lead to something the member did on the site. Got around to adding a better pic of Hardman to his bio.

The Gauntlet Gallery sees an update with three new sketches added to the mix! Not Megaman stuff, but Cheetara of Thundercats fame!

The Gauntlet Sprite Gallery features some old sprites that are used ALOT …. but are nonetheless were not in the gallery until now.

Megaman Mysteries sees an organizational upgrade. Also, the Guestbook sees an upgrade using inline frames to make the book integrated with the rest of the site!

New Layout!

The FTP was restored TODAY!

And with it comes the dawn …. of a NEW layout! GONE is the cluttered leftframe! GONE are cluttered image galleries! The site now works with the “nuts & bolts” section by using it as a site directory while the main links are at the top and bottom!

The Image Galleries have received MASSIVE redesigns. Now they have THUMBNAILS. Lots …. and LOTS ….. of bloody THUMBNAILS. SOMEBODY better pat me on the back, because making all those things was hard to do.

The forum has also been moved. So, flock there, ye faithfulls, if you haven’t already.

Past layouts have been added to the Nuts & Bolts page, including the previous 8-bit layout.

*wipes sweat from brow*

whew…. that was a LOT of work.

Fake Update!

Okay, so you may have noticed that the ‘Maniacs have not gotten an update for nigh onto a MONTH.

This is not my fault!

For a few weeks in February I was hit by a virus and had to have my HD wiped (UGH). Luckily I backed everything up, so nothing was lost.

And THEN a server move on MMC’s part went awry. The FTP is STILL down (uploaded this via the control panel).

So, that’s why there’s no updates. I HAVE an update. But it can’t be posted yet.

Manga Profiles

Time for another Manga Profiles update! I’ve decided to try to make this as “ultimate” as possible …. you see, ALL the Ariga works I have have these profile pages …. however, some feature characters the other doesn’t have. So I’m gonna try to get ALL the characters systematically.

Anyhow, the first half of Megamix 2’s profiles have been uploaded. Some are repeats of profiles we already have, but the scans are bigger … might give some better quality.

Additionally …. I’ve been looking over the page and it looks quite … messy. Oh, having all your content sprawled out on the left frame is a great strategy for pages STARTING OUT, but ….. the Mechanical Maniacs has become somewhat of a monster site. In the future I want to have an entirely new layout and organization system and to that end the Nuts and Bolts page has become a site index showcasing both main features alongside the minor ones in neat categories.

Oh, and due to unavoidable hosting issues there might be some downtime in the near future. Be not alarmed.
