TMNT: Saint Turtle
Part three of my "All Turtles" collage: The Saint Turtle!

What? You've never heard of the Saint Turtle!? For SHAME!

His story begins in the highly-obscure TMNT anime OVA. And since this is Japan they made all sorts of crazy changes to our favorite green repiles. Apparently the turtles go into some temple and meet Kris Mu, the fairy spirit of light. She gives them all Mutastones which they use to power up into the Super Turtles. And, also because this is anime, the Super Turtles have the power to combine into the Saint Turtle (as seen above).

Now, when veiwing the Saint Turtle you'll notice a few things.

1) He is a deep blue and silver despite being formed by four green guys.
2) He is not at all built like any of the turtles (they're roundish, Saint's a huge Japanese muscle-man). It's MUCH more noticable in the anime than my own art stlye though.
3) Saint Turtle has a VERY rectangular face with a humanoid nose and chin despite being made up of four green mutant turtles who don't have those features at all.
4) For some reason Saint Turtle has wings and carries around a very un-ninja like sword. I dunno, maybe he's a Koopa Paratroopa.
5) Leo, Don, Mike, and Raph are all named after great Reinessance painters. So when they cambine they're called ..... the Saint Turtle? I dunno, but I think Reinessance would be a better name. Or even Baroque (the art period after the Reinessance).

So the Saint is not really a Saint, hardly a ninja and not much of a turtle, but he can fly and breath (and talk) in space so that makes up for it all.

It's also worth mentioning that all the turtles have to "synchronise their hearts" in order to properly control their Saint form ..... and that didn't work well in the anime.

So on the one hand Saint Turtle is totally lame. On the other I love seeing crazy regionalisation changes. Megaman gets sorta screwed when he's ported over here. And the TMNT got sorta screwed when being ported over there. It's karma.

The picture itself was drawn with the wings seperate from the main body. Because there was not enough room on the paper (rookie mistake, Gauntlet!). But he looks nice and shiny anyway!

Oh, TMNT is copyright Mirage studios. Although I wonder if listing the copyright is really nessasary here.
