Captain N's Rockman 2
So if it's Rockman 2 what's Topman, Gamma, Garbageman, Doc Robot, and Rush doing there? Well, Captain N's Megaman 2 episode didn't have Flashman for some reason. And since Mega Girl's in there and she has nothing to do with MM2 (Roll isn't even in the game at all; why's she on the box in the first place?) I figures Topman could substitute for Flash. As for Rush, Archie's homage to the art featured Rush, so I put him in place of Item-2. With those two in there I figured I may as well add Doc Robot, Gamma and Garbage in place of the Hothead, Air Tikki and Tellys to fill out the space.

I tried to mimic the effects of the circle as closely as possible. Surprisingly, they don't all converse on one central point. I also tried to get the colours as correct as possible for all the characters, making sure to colour correct each screen shot as I went along. Doc Robot wound up having more colours than I used to think, with different shades of grey and white in his design rather than the flat grey I thought he had. Bubble was annoying to finish as he has two distinct designs in the one episode, changing from one frame tot he next (I went with the one I preferred). I also wish I had went with the second version of Megaman's look, from Season 3 of Captain N. It's actually quite different from the original, but I forgot all about it when I drew this up. Megaman's visor went through a few revisions until I found a way of rendering it I was happy with. On the show it's almost like a cloth mask, but I know it's meant to be a visor (Mega Girl's visor being rendered more as you'd expect).

When drawing this I decided to go with the proportions found in the Rockman 2 art. Unlike the Rockman 1 designs, these ones sometimes had wildly different proportions, especially Quickman and Clashman. And both had very fixed expressions in Captain N. I decided they didn't need to retain those expressions and that the picture would work best if I retained the proportions from the original art. However, as I did with the Rockman 1 art I did enlarge MM's and MG's heads; after all if I'm tracing and altering art I may as well alter it to be in my own style.

In the end I really like how this picture turned out.
