TM2 Needlegal

Prickly and trigger-happy.

First part of a series of character pics intended for use in Maniacs Bios, since we've been needed art of the characters in their TM2 forms for a while now. Naturally, by the time I got started, both Gauntlet and Rich were both nearly finished with the exact same idea, and now Gauntlet actually is finished, so the bios will likely get his versions next update. I'll still finish my own set, as there's still a use for the pics on the site, but that'll come later. For now, I have to dedicate my last two nights before the gathering making sure all the other stuff I promised to draw is drawn. Might as well post the first two I finished before then.

As you might be able to tell, I have a mental predisposition to work numerically. I can't help but think of Robot Masters in order of their DWNs. Hence, Needlegal017 comes first, followed by Magnet, Gemini, etc.

I rather like how Needle came out. The hardest part was the left hand. I usually don't have many problems with hands, but then again I usually only use a small set of angles I've already committed to memory. The problem here was making it look like the fingers were pointing in the exact direction her gun was aimed, but every hand I drew looked flat and pointing directly off to the right, when I wanted it pointing slightly forward. I figured the dimensionality problems would come down to the shading, and I'm still not sure I made it pop out enough. Well, at least the rest of it's pretty badass.
