The fictional world that all Megaman Teams reside in are all found in separate series written by different authors and are known collectively only as "The Epilogues." Based around the idea that whatever happens in the epilogues of any particular team happen AFTER the game (ex: the adventures of the robot masters after MM 3), hence they are an epilogue to that game. The world of The Epilogues is vast and complex and often hard to grasp since so many different authors have added to the collective series. The world of the epilogues (at least how I, Gauntlet, see it) is a place where ALL events in the fictional world happen on one Earth. For instance, in the world of The Epilogues, one can meet both Superman, Spiderman, The Planeteers, and Galvatron all in the same day without having some sort of multiuniversal crisis to cause it. This document is to help you better understand the epilogues that relate to this team, the Mechanical Maniacs. Who their friends are and acquaintances (enemies can be found in the rogues gallery).

Topman |

Magnetman |
Spark Chan |
Geminiman |
Hardman |
Snakeman |
Shadowman |
The Mechanical Maniacs, they defend the Earth against the forces of evil that directly effect them. They're the stars of the Mechanical Maniacs' epilogue series and if you don't know that much, you must be a little slow. Although the members have shifted from series to series, the Mechanical Maniacs are currently led by Gauntlet and have powerful Transmetal armor. Known as the "tricky team", the Mechanical Maniacs like to rely on superior strategy than brute force.
The Sinister Six |
|||||
Bombman |
Cutman |
Iceman |
Gutsman |
Elecman |
Fireman |
The Sinister Six is probably the greatest friends of the Mechanical Maniacs. They are the first Megaman Team ever and their adventures inspired all the other Megaman teams .... although don't tell them that because their egos are big enough. Led by Iceman, the Sinister Six faces against Super Chaos regularly and manage to Forest Gump their way out of many dangers. After a triumphant battle against their enemies, the team disbanded after the death of Iceman.
The X-Force |
|||||||
Frost Walrus |
Cyber Peacock |
Magma Dragoon |
Split Mushroom |
Storm Owl |
Jet Stingray |
Slash Beast |
Web Spider |
Having logic entirely different from the Mechanical Maniacs, the X-Force rely on their power to overcome their opponents. With good reason too for they seem to grow in power in leaps and bounds with every month! Led by Magma Dragoon (Ben) this team's not "nice" like we are. They use extreme force in dealing with their enemies, often destroying the country in which they're fighting. Good thing they're on our side. After a battle against Red the team and their entire timeline was wiped out.
The Megaman Community |

Auto |
Shival |
Egoraptor |
Nightmare Zero |
Generic Rick |
Stoneman |
Shadowblade |
Lysekoid |
Megaman Teams are only a sub-category of the greater Megaman community. They are real characters who have Megaman homepages. They occasionally play a role in the epilogues as well at times. Will their zani-ness ever end?
Heroes of the World |

Superman |
Player 2 |
Green Ranger |
Captain Planet |
Bender |
Colossus |
Tick |
Unmasked Sub Zero |
Other heroes protect the world besides the Megaman Teams. Generally living outside Mega Land, all these heroes have had dealings with the Mechanical Maniacs at one time or another. Since, in The Epilogues, any hero from any series can (and is) used, these heroes all know of each other and all go to the same convention in Metropolis every year.
FAQ:
None of these questions were actually ASKED, but I figure,
it'll speed up understanding for some readers.
I'm LOST! You have over 40 epilogues AND there are OTHER TEAMS!
How will I ever understand??
Well, that's what issue#0 is for. If you're new, you just
have to read issue #0 to whichever series you're starting in
and you'll get all the info you need to know to understand what's
going on. Now, isn't THAT handy?
What's cannon in epilogues?
Basically anything, so long as it does not contradict our
series. For instance, epilogues over at the Technological Tyrants
are cannon and so is almost any work of fiction we acknowledge.
And, since this is a FUN work with little true seriousness, we
can play around with the continuity of other series.
Do we really have to read epilogues from the Sinister Six or
you're past ones to understand what's going on NOW?
No. Just read issue #0. The great thing about the epilogues
is that each team has it's own series while the whole interconnects,
although currently, there aren't many other teams writing epilogues
anymore.
Just how much of an ego-trip is this? You DO write about YOURSELVES.
Heh. Ii is a fine line, I admit. I try to balance the character
Gauntlet with good traits AS WELL AS faults (such as stinginess
and laziness) and let other member save the day quite often so
I don't fall into the ego trap. Do I succeed? I like to think
so.
How accurate are the members when you write them?
I TRY to make them accurate. However, sometimes I fall short
at times and this is always the case when writing about real
people.
What's up with the multiple members? The Sinister Six almost
NEVER switches members!
I never expected our team to have so many former members.
But, it's what happens. Ice's close personal friends are mainly
his members while mine are "hired" in different ways.
Hence mine tend to quit. Sometimes I've lost touch and that's
what happens sometimes. So this is reflected in the epilogues.
I've noticed that "Gauntlet" is the only character
to use his real name and not his RM name. Why is this?
Chalk that up to laziness on my part! At first, I intended
to find/replace everyone's name in, but I got lazy and ended
up leaving it as it was. Eventually, it just became habit. But
I've taken to calling myself "Shadowman" in epilogues,
as it should be . The name "Gauntlet" can now be found
in only the early epilogue series.
What's up with the guest starrs? Audrey 2 .... the Tick ......
what do they have to do with Megaman?
Well, let's face it. I like Megaman, but there's only so much
material to work with. I gotta expand and that's done with guest
starrs. If I like a particular character, I'll put him in.
When a series is done, how much planning goes into it?
Depends. Series 1 had absolutely no planning. The first half
was done in two days during the summer and the solos a few months
later (long story). The next series had the ending envisioned,
but the whole middle was done on the fly. This series ..... who
knows?
Why the constant change in status quo?
Because I think the epilogues need a change of pace after every
20 or so issues. To keep the ideas fresh. It's also useless
to change series when the status quo hasn't changed at all.
What's with the name "series"?. Gary and Ben use "Seasons" to
separate their epilogues.
It's because the format for my epilogues are based more off
comic books than TV shows and comics use Series. Also note I
use "Issues" to mark different epilogues.
Speaking of which, when do you know to make a new series?
When it feels right. Which, as it turns ouit, is around 20
epilogues per series. I try to make each series have a different
situation since, in my opinion, it's not worth making a new series
if there's not some major change! That being the case I try to
milk each series for every idea it's worth.
What's up with the "Transmetal armours?" What made
you decide to put them in?
Ah, there are multiple reasons for it, Garsshopper.
A) The origional MM3 people belong to Capcom. No matter how much
personality I put into them, they will always belong to Capcom.
By using these little-known quasi-official designs, I can make
them more my own.
B) When people see an image of Shadowman they think "Megaman
3". But when people see "Transmetal Shadowman" they
think "Mechanical Maniacs"! The designs I chose came
from Nintendo-endorsed magazines and Capcom-endorsed products;
although not specifially made by either this makes them official
enough for me while allowing a degree of origionality I can attach
to my site.
C) There are many MM teams, (moreover there are alot of MM3 teams!)
and not all of them are distinguishable. They all use the game-origional
artwork and designs. By using lesser-known designs, I am able
to be unique! It also forces me to make new sprites for myself,
and since most teams use Auto's 16-bit sprites, these new versions
make my site and epilogues seem even more origional.
What's up with all the changing members? I can't keep up!!
It just can't be helped. I wish I could keep the members constant,
I really do ....... but most lose interest after a few months
and other simply dissappear. I suppose I could keep them on in
name only, but ....... well, that doesn't really sit well with
me. So, until I get an entire TEAM of people who won't quit or
dissappear on my *crosses fingers* the membership will continue
to change.
Satisfied? Now, read the series!
