Scenario B
Participants:
Junkman (RPD)
Freezeman (SA)
Fatal Five (7M)(W)
Slashman (DM)(C)
Location: Berlin
Max. Cossack Scrap Value: 9793
SA Infantry: 1317
RPD Units: 1175
Wily Bots: 667
A group of robots was patrolling through the devastated cities
of Berlin. After the intervention of the Ascendant Androids, the
expression "dead town" described the place very well.
Leading them, five Robot Masters. They suffered the biggest humiliation
recently, and must now cooperate with the Devil himself.
Riff thought back of the last days. After a successful victory
to the SA, he and the other Wily-Bots were forced to collaborate
with them - or Dr Wily would suffer a painful fate. This, they
couldn't accept.
They stopped their patrol for a few minutes, with some Scissor
Joes standing near - close enough to shoot them down if they did
a rebellious gesture.
At the beginning of the War, the Fatal Five thought defeating the
SA would be a matter of weeks. Now, they had lost, and lived for
as long as they could help the SA.
Something caught Riff's eye : Karasû, one of his teammates, was
motioning the Fatalists to get closer to him. he gave each of them
a small medallion, a metallic F set on a red-blood V - their "logo".
"I put some protection charms in these", explained the
wizard-bot.
"It may come in handy."
As they put it on, they felt ... warmer. Was the spell already
having effect ?
It was confirmed when one of the drones reported a lone Cossacker
had been spotted. The Fatal five didn't like taking on people in
inferiority, but ...
"It's him or us." stated Warpman. That, and the death
of a Cossacker could please the General, and such, affect Wily's
survival.
Riff commanded the Joe Officer to patrol with his men, while the
whole Wily force would take on the lone robot.
With any luck, the destruction of the loner would help them to
take the pain of defeat away. For a while.
--------------------
Slashman was quite happy with the spot he found. No one bothered
visiting Berlin since the big show, and the open streets were like
a supermarket to him.
He continued to dig for a while, when he heard an unusual noise.
He quickly adopted a fighting stance, and sniffed the air.
He was surrounded.
To confirm his impression, Wily-bots popped in, and all aimed at
the claw-master.
"Hey ! If this isn't old Wolverine !" cackled a misshaped
robot, with the freakiest arm Slash had ever seen.
"I don't have the pleasure to know you yet, Wily scum" he
growled,
"but my claws will tear you apart before you blink !"
"Try that and you'll be mincemeat." told the grey robot.
"Anyways, just so you know, we're the Fatal Five. Nothing personal."
The Fatalist raised his arm, and Slash knew what'd happen the second
he lowered it.
He closed his eyes, and huge detonations thundered all around him.
When he opened the eyes, the Wily force was replaced by black smoke,
and the Fatal Five were standing, still confused.
"You again ? Get lost, T-1000 !" yelled the misshaped robot.
Slashman's eyes widened in disbelief. Drastic Measures was here !
This promised to be the worst day ever for everyone involved.
--------------------
'Men!' Junk roared out. 'Take out those Wily scum! Let me handle
those five buffoons over there, got it?'
The RPD's weaponry went off and managed to create a smokescreen for
Junkman to come in and plant a powerful elbow into the grey robot.
It then hit him: Those five from Norway. They somehow survived what
happened there and have cornered Slashman.
'Look. Let's make this simple. You five Wily bucket of bolts just
surrender yourselves now and I won't have to rearrange your faces
with my Staff, okay?'
The leader of this group stood up to Junkman and decided to throw
the first punch, hitting him square in the stomach. This was a huge
mistake as Junk brandished his trademark staff and proceeded to pound
the leading robot into the ground.
'Ugh... We have to fall back!' he exclaimed. 'Not a chance, Riff.'
said Warpman. 'We have a chance to take this Cossack bot out and
I'm not gonna let T-1000 and his RPD buddies take the fun away. Staccato,
Karasu: Provide our friend some entertainment while I charge up the
Warp Gate. GO!'
'Sure..' with that said Karasu threw down a couple of smokebombs
in order to distract Junkman. It worked, for as soon as Junkman could
turn around, he got hit by Staccato's twin blades and sent back a
few feet.
'Heh. Thou shall feel the fury of my blades, for you are dead.' Staccato
said in a menacing tone. He lifted one of his blades and slammed
it down into the ground... He was hoping to hit Junkman, but instead
he managed to get stuck in the ground. This gave Junkman all the
time he needed to get back up on his feet and place his gigantic
claw around the throat of Staccato.
'You five bolt brains should of quit by now.' said Junk as he tossed
Staccato over to where the other three were. By this time, Warpman
managed to get his Warp Gate up to full power as Riff, the leader
of this group, had gather the others to head out without any attempt
on Slashman's life.
'Good riddance.' said Junkman as he saw his old team mate and friend
still stare in disbelief. He knew that one day that the others, his
old team mates, would see him once again. Slashman asked the one
question that has been a massive thorn in Junk's side:
'Hey, Junk. Where are the others?' Junkman sighed and told Slash
that the others were killed in combat during their mission in Nonsteropolis.
This shocked Slash to no end. His friends were dead. It seems that
only Junk and him remained of this team more known to cause the most
damage to a city.
'Look, we're the last two members alive, I know that, but that doesn't
change the fact that I'm going to have to arrest you for supporting
that terrorist Cossack. Now, you either give yourself up quietly
or I'm going to make a dent into that metal face of yours.'
Slashman prepared to defend himself from his old friend when he noticed
that the Warp Gate hasn't closed yet. 'Hmmm...' Slashman thought
to himself. 'Hey, Junk. You think we can follow those five to where
ever this hole leads to?'
'I assume so, Slash. What are you...'
Before Junkman can finish that statement, Slash used it to escape
the clutches of the RPD. Junkman had no choice but to follow Slash
through the Warp Gate. Even though he was his friends, his duty to
the RPD came first before his friends' safety.
--------------------
They were in a dark, seemingly underground place. They could barely
see in front of them, until Karasû lit an end of his staff.
"Everyone here ?" asked Riff. The Fatalists nodded, and
Lento spoke up :
"Warp Gate remained open longer than usual. Has Drastic Measures
followed us ?"
They turned to Warpman, who seemed rather uneasy. "It's never
happened before - I mean, I have full control about my portals. But,
I delayed the door, so that we have five minutes to get away."
"Could it be ... that the batteries we installed you gave their
full potential ?" asked Karasû. "You better be careful,
companion, or the side-effects could greatly damage you."
"Yeah. I'll think about it..." The Portal Master had other
thoughts on the question. With such an increased power, there were
so many things he could do now...
"Shall ye stay here, once the enemy comes hither ?" Staccato's
voice took Warpman out of his daydreaming, and he quickly followed
the other Fatalists.
They followed a metallic corridor, until they spotted a silhouette
in front of them. By the looks of it, it was a Scissor Joe. In a
way, this relieved them.
"We'll ask that guy to lead us to the present Officer, and report
about the RPD arrival, okay ?" Riff walked closer to the Joe,
in a calm way - the next second, he was getting shot at.
Warpman opened a door to get his leader out of the way, and Lento
opened fire on the Joe, blasting him to pieces.
"It does not seem that they learned about our alliance." muttered
Karasû. But already, the Fatal Five were thinking - didn't they hear
something about a traitor in the SA ?
"That wall seems to have poor structural integrity." told
Lento, as he removed a panel on the corridor's side. Riff took a
look, and swore.
It was a factory. The construction lines were working on
two kind of models : what seemed to be human-sized puppets, and giant
metallic shells. Regular Joes were patrolling around, as well as
some bigger 'bots. The Five knew them too well, for they met two
in Anchorage.
"Siege Joes..." muttered Staccato, his voice trembling
with fear.
"Okay, bad news. We found something that should've remained
hidden. It's a factory controlled by Mesmerman's forces. And whoever's
guarding it will have no remorse about stuffing us full of plasma."
They remained silent at the perspective, until Karasû headed back
to their
"entrance" and broke the silence :
"I guess we can ask for Drastic Measures' help..."
--------------------
Slashman came out first through the Warp Gate only to arrive at some
underground location that even he didn't know about. Just behind
him was Junkman, who managed to give chase to the fleeing Cossack
bot.
Junk landed on his rear end and said a few choice words that are
best meant for older people. He got up and saw what seemed to be
a factory. 'Now, what in the hell is this place?' he said. He tried
to radio the other RPD units, but the signal was so weak that it
was pretty much useless to try and contact them.
Junk sighed and went over to Slashman. 'Looks like I'm in over my
head here. Whatever this place is about is bad news. You up to ally,
like old times Slash?'
Slash thought about what Junk asked for, and despite Junk working
for the RPD, the feelings of being with his old team mate once again
proved to be too great for him to overcome as he shook Junk's hand.
'Good,' said Junk. 'Let's see if we can find anyone else that's friendly
around here before figuring out where we are...'
That's when Slash saw Karasu and attacked him quickly. Junk moved
in to pull Slash off of the bird-like robot only to find the other
members of the Fatal Five in the same area. 'Give me one good reason
why I don't beat you punks into the ground?'
Riff spoke up for the team. 'This place... is a factory. For Mesmerman.
He's somehow controlling the place and creating both puppets and
Siege Joes.' The mention of the name Mesmerman quickly got Junkman's
attention, for it was Mesmerman who killed Freezeman in cold blood
way back when the team was in Hong Kong. It was also Turboman's goal
to go after Mesmerman for what he had done to him. With Turboman
and the others fallen, it was all on Junkman to uphold what Turboman
wanted the most: Revenge against Mesmerman.
Riff, unsure about what he was going to say, asked Junkman to partner
up with them for now. At first, Junk felt appalled that these Wily
bots would ask for such a thing. Then, Warpman spoke.
'Look, T-1000. What we all have found here has to be destroyed no
matter what. You think we want anything to do with that floating
whackjob? I am with Riff here. We team up, take out this factory
and get the hell out before you try to arrest us.'
Junk and Slash shook Riff's hand as they stood near the factory unsure
of what the plan is for taking down this evil place.
--------------------
Deep in the factory, there was the unlikeliest being ever
in a SA-controlled factory. It was a regular man wearing a costume.
He was sitting in a rather comfortable chair, and his eyes were closed,
as if he was meditating.
There was something scary about him : his smile. Had it been wider,
the upper half of his head would fall off.
"So, they will come and explore? Wonderful..." he muttered,
apparently pleased with himself. He raised his head, and opened his
eyes. For a mere second, instead of regular pupils, he had small,
black-on-white spirals.
"Come in, please. I know you're here."
The being that entered his room was once a proud warrior ; now, he
was just another mindless puppet in the hands of the Great Trickster.
His body was covered with stained glass, all red and blue.
"You know about the intruders, Master." he started. "Do
you want me to take them down ?"
"No, not yet." replied the man. "They're pouring fear
from every part of their body, and it feels ... delicious." He
then turned to the robot. "Besides, some of your friends are
here, and I'd like you to prepare a nice welcoming for them."
"Friends ?" asked the robot.
The man had a vague hand-gesture. "Brother-in-arms, teammates,
whatever word you want to use. You don't want to ruin the surprise
for them, do you ?"
The robot then bowed his head in agreement. "As you wish, milord."
And on these words, he left.
"Yes, get ready ... Freezeman."
--------------------
On the surface, the RPD force was confused. Their leader had disappeared
through an energy portal minutes ago, and didn't reappear since.
In the meantime, they went and secured the town, taking quick care
of the small SA patrols, but ... something felt wrong. It was hard
to say why.
These 'thoughts' raced through the brain of #3-13, the RPD Command
Bot, as his troops were sending reports of the situation. He was
about to transmit another order of patrols when his hearing was filled
with static.
He tried another comm. line. Static. Another one. Static again. Each
and every one communication channel was completely blocked, virtually
leaving the RPD bots to fight on their own.
3-13 headed out of the building he was in, and was greeted by the
sight of a plasma cannon aimed at his head.
The Siege Joe blasted the commander into a puddle of metal, and went
out to carry on the slaughter. Everywhere in Berlin, SA Joes and
Siege Joes were taking care of the intruders...
--------------------
Fear was following the explorers as they went deeper. The
group of now seven robots was going downer in the factory, in search
for an exit. Many times, they were close to being caught by a patrol
of Joes. Many times, they nearly died of an "heart attack",
as a Siege Joe went in their sight and left it.
It took them fifteen minutes to go down a floor.
"I'm getting fed up", muttered Warpman. He was about to
open a Warp Gate when Slashman put a hand on his arm. "What
now, Logan ?"
"And where do you think you'll land, Warpy ? You have eleven
chances out of one to land in the middle of Joes !"
"That, and they could spot us." added Riff.
Mumbling, Warpman cancelled his shot, and they resumed their infiltration.
The lower levels were easier to go through : more assembly lines
to hide near, and less and less troops to patrol.
Finally, they found what seemed to be the control room. The only
being in it was in a chair, his back turned to the warriors.
"Well, well!" he said cheerily. "Now that you found
me, I'm 'it'?"
"Does not compute." replied Lento. "Making sense required."
"Weren't we playing hide-and-seek together ?" asked the
being with his cheery voice. "You mean I deactivated the security
for nothing ?"
"What doth that mean ? And who art thou?" asked Staccato.
"I enjoyed watching you. So much fear, such tension ... I'm
loving you guys already ! But I'm getting impolite..." the chair
turned to reveal a fine-looking man. "Thaddeus Tillman, President
of SyneCo."
Junkman gasped. "You were that man Garderham was investigating
about !"
Tillman nodded. "Yep. Annoying critter was all nosy ... asking
rude questions ... Can't I do my job without getting annoyances ?"
"But SyneCo was closed for four years at least !"
"I see you talk with the right persons." replied the president
of the ghost Company. "But this won't stop this fun time, right
?" He snapped his fingers, and a robot came from a nearby door.
The Drastic Measurers gasped at his sight.
"Freezeman !" they shouted in unison. The cold master did
not reply, or move. In a gesture of his hand, the crystals on his
body turned in montrous shapes, composed of blue and red glass.
"Have fun with my personnal bodyguard." said Tillman. "Oh,
and ... try to catch me !" he laughed before running away.
On a nod, Junkman and Riff ran after him. The glass-beasts tried
to block their way, but a missile barrage from Lento and Warpman
bought enough time to both leaders to get away.
With an evident frustration on his mind, Freezeman turned his attention
to the five remaining warriors. He was already thinking in which
ways he would dispose of their corpses.
The artistic thoughts that raced through his mind pleased the Glass
Warrior, and he sent a mental impulsion to Eden and Hades.
--------------------
Riff and Junkman were following Tillman for a minute already when
they lost sight of him. They had entered a rather cosy -and out of
place- hallway. All but one door were closed.
"Is there any more obvious of a trap ?" asked Riff. Junkman
remained silent, but both prepared their weapons and entered the
room.
It was a 'regular' CEO's office, complete to the pile of unsigned
papers. Just after they had entered, the door closed, revealing Tillman.
"We found you, Tillman" stated Junkman. "What will
you do now ?"
"
Playing" he answered. Something looked wrong with him
: his smile was getting abnormally wide, and his body seemed to shift,
like some pearls were growing on his limbs. And then, his right eye
extended from its socket, forming a white tentacle, and connecting
to the back of his head.
Completely scared, Riff opened fire, hitting the "human" in
the chest. Flesh opened, revealing a black spiral on a white sphere.
Tillman's skin ripped out from this hole, revealing the body of an
infamous being...
"Surprised to see me ?" asked Mesmerman. "I hoped
you'd have guessed it by now !" A blood-red scythe appeared
in his left hand, and he charged at the warriors...
Junkman summoned a Junk Wave. Although it went through the psychic
monster's body without a scratch, it hit a humanoid 'shape' behind,
which made the monster flicker.
"Riff !" But the Fatalist had already guessed : he released
his missiles and unloaded his Gatling on the area filled by the shape,
followed by other Junk Waves from the Trash Master.
The broken body of a Mesmer Puppet fell to the ground, which caused
Mesmerman's body to slowly fade away. "Oh, my !" he mocked. "I
can't believe you defeated me !"
"Us neither." replied Riff.
"Figured that." replied the smiling freak. He then shrugged,
an unsettling move for a limbless creature. "I had other business
to attend to, anyway. See you next time, and touch nothing !"
"Wait !" shouted Junkman. "Are you the real Mesmer,
or just a copy ?"
"One of the answers, both and neither ! It's for me to know,
and for you to ponder about - for eternity !" The spiraling
monster finally disappeared with a shrieking laugh, which echoed
all through the room.
The unlikely allies stared at each other before Riff asked : "You
think he meant it, with "touch nothing" ?"
Junkman shrugged. "It seems that guy never do anything without
a reason. If he took us all the way here, it's because he wants us
to know what's left there." 'There' designated the computer.
They headed to the machine - it was on.
"You're good at hacking ?" asked the RPD Officer.
"Not that much" admitted Riff, "but live and learn,
right ?"
The two leaders started working on the security codes, while -as
they supposed- their teammates were still battling Freezeman. To
each, their battle.
--------------------
Freezeman was staring at his five enemies, and no one dared to do
the first move. Until Slashman yelled :
"Freeze ! What happened to you ?"
The Glass Master thought a bit on this before answering : "Mesmerman.
He has shown me the light. I agreed to work for him, and he gave
me the right tools to admire the destruction we caused by fighting."
"Are ... Are you insane ?!"
"No, my friend. Don't you remember our name, Drastic Measures
? There is a reason we're called that way, and I'll show you it now
!"
The glass beings charged at Slashman while Freezeman walked
back a bit. The feline warrior jumped out of the way at the last
minute, only to see the beasts were following him.
"Yes ! Only destruction can lead to harmony ! Crush, kill -
and create the ultimate form of art !"
The Fatalists used their arsenal on the beasts - bombs, missiles,
or stranger means. Karasû was using the ground itself, as he turned
parts of the floor as projectiles, with little effect. Howver, it
forced Eden and Hades to focus on several targets at the same time,
giving Slash some room to breathe.
Staccato himself had found his weapons of little use - even his Metanium-plated
foils were damaged by the bladed limbs. He went closer to Karasû,
with the firm idea to protect him if it came to the worst.
"My friend, I have a special mission for you." whispered
the raven-wizard.
"And what is it ?"
"This foe is quite similar to summoner wizards - if we can kill
the master, his beasts will fall."
"But how ? My blades are of no use, and I can't find a way to
hack through the defenses of these despicables horrors !"
Karasû smirked. "We will use ... a Gate. Warpman ! Freeze around
!"
He then turned to Slashman, who was close to them. "Grab my
hand, fellow warrior !"
Slashman didn't question, as the Fatalists went closer. They all
had their hand on Warpman, who was raising his weaponed arm.
A flash. All went still.
"Time Stopper." explained Warpman. He was obviously in
pain rom the effort. "Okay, Raven, what's your plan ?"
"You all distract the monsters. Warpman, you'll open a door
to Freezeman. Staccato will rush through and kill our foe."
"What ? No ! He's ... he was my teammate !"
"There's no other way." told Karasû. "It's him - or
us."
"Okay, time in." said Warpman, as he deactivated his Time
Stopper.
"Let's go with the plan."
The beasts were still after them. Lento fired a Slowdown
Cannon, with no effect. He opened fire with his own weapons, until
they ran out of ammo.
After the cloud of smoke shifted away, the things were still here,
though a bit damaged.
"Use the amulet, companion ! Raise it !" Doing as ordered,
Lento found himself surrounded by a white-grey glowing aura. One
of the beasts charged him, its arm aiming at his heart - to find
itself breaking on his torso. Lento replied with a punch which shattered
the abomination's body before it reconstructed itself.
"I told you there was a protection spell." explained Karasû,
but he was already seeing the effects were wearing off. He nodded
to Warpman, who opened the Warp Gate. Staccato was about to enter
it, when ...
"Out of my way !" Slashman pushed Staccato out of the way,
and jumped in. He found himself in front of his teammate, soon followed
by the duellist-bot.
"My old friend ... You've come to kill me, isn't it ? How foolish
of you..." Freezeman raised an arm and threw a Freeze Cracker
at the beast-bot. Staccato blocked it with his left arm, which was
soon frozen to the shoulder.
"Stay away and block him ! This isn't a battle to be won by
recklessness !"
Slashman nodded. he jumped around Freezeman in order to distract
him, and finally jumped to the roof, where he threw goo bombs. Immobilized,
and blinded, Freezeman screamed in frustration before his heart was
pierced by a single foil.
"The game is over." Staccato tried to remove his blade,
but it was firmly stuck - he had to break it, in order to keep the
hilt.
Slashman kneeled next to his fallen comrade. "I ... I'm sorry,
Freezeman. Had I known about your loss in Hong Kong..."
"It's not your fault, Slash. No one can stop Mesmerman." Already,
his breath was getting hard.
"Please ! Don't leave me, Freeze !"
"Don't be sad. I'll meet the others. Shade is already ... waiting
... for ... me." And on these words, life left the proud warrior.
The glass beasts fell apart at the same time, but no one was really
paying attention to the victory. The Fatalists were all gathered
around Slashman.
Karasû patted the clawed warrior on the shoulder. "We ... we
must leave. That way, we'llbe able to give a decent tomb to your
teammate."
Slashman slowly nodded. Lento gently took the body. His armor was
open on several large areas, and one his legs was barely connected
to his body.
"Let's see what our leaders are up to."
--------------------
After a few minutes of "exploring", all Junkman and Riff
had found on the computer was a single file, protected by a password
- and attempted everything that came to their mind, and related to
the psychic monster. From the obvious -
"mesmerman" and "thaddeus" - to the obscure -
"rothenburg", "monsteropolis" or "penchinon".
"Hold on, I may have something." told Riff. Junkman raised
his head.
"See, he rebelled against the General because they don't have
the same goals, right ? And what does the General wish to accomplish
?"
They spoke in unison "Elysium" and typed in - and the file
opened.
"A tricky one, for sure." commented Junkman. The Fatalist
nodded, beaming. They turned their attention to the single file that
was in it. It was a text file, but surprise came to them as they
read it. It started with coordinates for something in space. Something
big. Above, there was a description of that something.
"Holy ... We must copy it." Riff nodded, and both robots
connected themselves to the computer. The transfer went fine. But
as they disconnected themselves ...
... the screen broke from the inside. Mesmerman was in the machine,
and tried to get out ! First his hands, then his head destroyed the
glass. He spoke up in a ghostly voice : "Seven days ... Seven
minutes !"
Both warriors screamed in terror and ran away. As Riff turned back,
he saw the screen was intact, and there were no glass debris on the
ground. What had just happened ? He didn't know, and didn't want
to know.
They ran back to their teammates, meeting them battle-damaged and
carrying a fallen Freezeman. They stopped, and caught back their
breath.
"I won't touch a computer for a while" told Riff.
"You're lucky. I mean, you don't work for the LIVING computer
!"
"We have the General" snapped Warpman back, and replied
to the look of uncomprehension from Slash and Junk "We lost
to the SA, and we're with them now. End of the story."
Before Junkman could reply, alarms rang all around them,
and they found themselves surrounded by Siege Joes. One of them opened
fire on Slashman, who fell to the ground, half of his body burnt
by plasma.
"Crags ! Warpman, away ! Now !"
"I ... I can't !" yelled the teleportist. "They're
blocking my power !"
"Weapons empty. Death quick." told Lento.
The Siege Joes were getting closer, aiming at the fighters, when
the unbelievable happened. Warpman's amulet glowed, and he found
himself the center of an energy storm. Every opening, every hole
in his body was glowing, as if his innards had been replaced with
pure plasma.
There was a sound of thunder, and the eight robots disappeared, leaving
the Siege Joes with the alarm.
--------------------
BERLIN
The area around the factory were emptied of any presence, thanks
to the 'SA' 's intervention. They had quickly left as well, after
the self-destruction activated itself.
Exactly seven minutes after Riff and Junkman had copied the files
from the computer, a good half of the ghost city of Berlin blew up,
finishing the job Napalmman and his Androids had started months ago.
Then, after the sound of the detonation had disappeared, Berlin went
back to being a dead town.
--------------------
BRUSSELS
"Comment allez-vous, monsieur ?"
Slowly, Junkman was waking up. Last moment, he was surrounded by
Siege Joes - and now, someone was speaking to him in a language he
didn't know.
"How do you feel, sir ?" asked the man again.
"Could be better." Junkman got on his feet, and saw Slash
and Freeze on the ground, close to him. "Who're you and where
are we ?"
The man saluted. "Captain Roland Silver, Watcher in the belgian
division of the RPD. And you're in Brussels."
"I better thanks that Warpman next time I see him..." muttered
Junkman. He turned to Silver. "Contact Monsteropolis. I've got
top-level informations for Crorq."
He looked at his teammates. "And tell him I terminated a SA
Officer and put a Cossacker under arrest."
--------------------
KALINGRAD
The Fatal Five were more used to Warpman's powers than Junkman. Still,
the fact they went from Berlin to one of their Russian strongholds
amazed them.
Riff turned to Warpman - and saw he was as good as dead. His body
was burnt and charred on several places, his eyes were destroyed,
and smoke was coming from his mouth. The Fatalist leader nodded to
Karasû, who took an extra robot battery out of his sleeves.
With professional moves, he opened Warpman's back panel, and connected
the battery to his body, and the warping bot was back to life.
"Gotta love these SF batteries." he told. Riff smiled.
Even if Warpman was the most annoying of the Fatalists, none of the
Fatalists would accept his death.
"Alas, there's little chance they still work after this. You
will have to geet back to standard batteries, my friend." explained
Karasû.
"Hey, at least I'm still here to complain about it !" Warpman
then turned his attention to Riff. "So, what did you and T-1000
find ?"
"Something real big." Riff explained. Then his heart sank. "So
big I'll have to show it to the General."
Now, the Fatalists were wishing they got caught in the factory's
explosion.
And somewhere, in a place where time and dimensions were mere words,
a bodyless being was laughing at them. The loss of Tillman and of
the factory was a real thorn in his side, but he could still work
with that. At least, he still had loyal followers in the less expected
places...
Mesmerman laughed again, and the ethereal plane shivered in fear.
THE END
--------------------
