Nintendo Power Breakman

"Wait ... THIS is Protoman!?" I hear you exclaim. Yep!

This was many a child's first look at Megaman's mysterious brother within the pages of Nintendo Power magazine drawn up in my own Capcom-influenced style. It's so strange. Many poses within the magazine seem to reference official artwork but they feature completely redesigned looks based more on the game's sprites. Maybe it was to remain consistent with a Megaman 3 poster featured in a previous issue.

It's obvious they had no clue what Breakman looked like, nor could the artist have gotten past the Doc Robot stages to fight him. I guess they just gave him a blurry closeup of the sprite and he figured it looked like a red and grey Megaman resulting in this bizare look.

This picture was originally drawn over a decade ago, but I thought it still looked kind of okay so I polished it up and finished it off. I figured Magnetman's stage would make a good background since Nintendo Power suggests starting there when you play the game - so that's where you'd first encounter Breakman.
