Pyro's New Look
For most of the character's existence, Pyro's been little more than a black and red Tails recolor, with an extra tail and I struggled on how to make him a viable character. He has no real business as a Sonic fancharacter and never had a good story idea for him-

-until recently that is.

This semester, as part of my studies, I'm taking "Intro to Children's Literature" which includes looking at children's picture books. Then I had a revelation yesterday on the threadmill during my workout, why not make Pyro the hero of his own picture book? I have an idea (but for potential idea thieves, I am not saying it here on dA) and I think I'm going to talk to the Prof about it but I knew I had to make some changes.

First off, I had to make the character look less like our beloved Miles Prower so the multiple tails and that kitsune junk has to go. I also elongated his body to make him look more fox-like and also de-gloved him so he walks around barepawed.

Second, I plan to invert his color scheme to a bright orange-red with black markings. With hindsight 20/20, it didn't make much sense to have him predominantly black and call him "Pyro"

Third and lastly, I gave him a bright green bandana and a pair of goggles to wear around his neck. Goggles were always an integral part of Pyro's design; they were originally inspired by Beat from "Jet Grind Radio" on the Dreamcast and thus they will stick with the character.

Overall, I think this is an improvement over previous iterations of the character and I think Pyro might just have found a new shot at life. Ben happy.
