Dr. Wily

The last older sketch on my list to finish off and color, this is Dr. Wily in a different sort of style than my usual. I kinda like how it turned out. Obviously, since I finished it after all these years. Still can't draw hands, though. No, I can't.

The Wily logo was made ages ago for "the Business of War" over at the Mechs. So why this particular Wily fortress? Mainly because it looks good in the composition and won't overwhelm Wily himself. I think it's the only fortress that's so off center.

Wily got a lot more play in the Mechs stories than I ever intended or wanted. In theory he should be keeping Megaman busy since all the fan fics involving Megaman Teams were about the Robot Masters doing their own thing. If Wily's harassing them then what's Megaman up to? He was used way too much by everyone. I was glad Hadrian killed him off in his story which is just one reason I made it canon. Sure he was killed offscreen by a fan character, but dead's dead.

Dr. Wily as a character is always really fun. He just looooooves being an evil scientist. He's actually had a lot of different personalities and motivations. From Dr. Light's former lab assistant who was kind of jealous of him, to a school rival feeling scorned. He's shown to love his creations and just sort of throws them away in other iterations. I think he's the one character in all Megaman adaptations that is never done wrong.

Except for X era Wily. The same guy who made Sheepman is also responsible for crashing a space colony into the Earth killing untold numbers? How is this the same guy that made Sheepman!? Or a robot made entirely out of wood!? You lost me, X era. You lose me.
