Golemman
Last member of the Evil Eight that I pledged to draw two years ago. Well, I was originally going to Artilleryman as well, but Lennon actually beat me to it, and that's fine by me.

Golem was the last one I actually commited to paper. I had some vague ideas for him back in 2007 when I drew the rest of them, but it took me until just a couple weeks ago to start on him, after picking up Omni again.

I knew I wanted rock-like armor that wasn't actual rocks. It was hard to envision, and I had no luck searching for reference material. Coloring was fretful too because I never use daylight now that I think about it. I usually go for a darker ambience. I tried various things to not make him look completely separate from his background, but the longer I work on these things, the harder it is to spot where the problems lie. So I just wrapped it up and took away some lessons for next time.

Reference for the background is a photo from Google Image search for "Andes", because this scene is based on the first time I wrote for him, which was for the Peru scenario in BoW where he stands watch on the mountainside statue-like with birds crapping all over him. I didn't recreate the bird crap in the interest of good taste, but I still liked the idea of tiny birds perching on the poor guy.

Lennon didn't have as many notes for Golem, other than wanting him to look more rock-like, and to have armor similar to what Potemkin wears in Guilty Gear. Done and done.

Golemman created by ~icyrosebishounen for use with Robotic Raiders and Mechanical Maniacs, based on Capcom's Megaman series. Drawing by me.
