Wallpapers

Well it’s been a week and no access to the Classic Gaming stuff yet. I guess I’ll never have that handy redirect. BAH! Lessee, in a month I went from 900+ daily hits to 600+ when I said I’d take a small break, to 100 + hits now. Quite a change in fortunes, I must admit.

BAH! I did the affiliates thing so I wouldn’t HAVE to advertise anymore! Oh well……. Once the search engines kick in I’ll feel better. After all, that’s where the majority of hits came from. That and the Bob and George forums advertising my sprite tutorial. I love those guys.

My energy this week has been mostly to get Iceman and the Sinister Six moved to this server. I gotta say we’re making great time. I’d say we have …… oh, about 95 % of the site done. All that’s left is two sections, really. And I don’t think there’s any more broken links left in the site. Hey, I could be wrong, so if you find one e-mail me, but I don’t think there are.

If anyone visits this place to get the 411 on Planet Megaman, our esteemed hosts, and wants to know how long we’ll be until we’re back again ….. I dunno. It seems most of the files have been uploaded. Nothing was lost in, what I refer to as, “the Classic Gaming immaturity incident”. Most of what’s going on now is giving the site some new features and a slightly different look. I don’t think it’ll be too long.

So, what update does that leave for THIS site? Well, I took the time to make a real nice Snakeman wallpaper continuing my “Wallpapers for all the MM3 TV show guys” project. Who’s next? Who knows! You can find the wallpaper in the Downloads section under (guess what?) wallpapers!

Image Gallery, Sprite Tutorial

More gift art in the “other images” section of the image gallery. Thanks, JP Pace!

I’ve also updated the Sprite Tutorial with a few more tips. I usually tweak things in that tutorial without mention, but this was a more substantial tweak as I go into what not to do in animations.

Also, it may interest you guys to know that Planet Megaman is moving. And with it the Mechanical Maniacs. And the Sinister Six too, actually. Y’know I was actually considering changing my layout for the big move, but after formatting the epilogues and the guides I have come to a conclusion: not in a million years is it worth the price of spending hours upon hours of formatting. Never. Ever.

Lemme clue you guys in on some specifics. The Mechanical Maniacs take up a hefty 172 MB. The epilogues ALONE take up 3.55 MB with 110 files in 5 folders including unreleased eps. That’s 110 files I had to go into and format. Lemme tell ya, in the most ideal circumstances, that’s STILL annoying! So no new layout THIS year!

Image Gallery, We’re back!

Yeah, we are back. I feel a little better. Better enough to wanna update the site again. So, here we are.

This week Raijin aka Snakeman has updated his image gallery full of purty pictures. Who doesn’t love Image Gallery updates?

Also, during the week I’ve been helping Iceman (of the Sinister Six) finish off some of his old epilogues. Alot of his old epilogues, actually. So if you want Gauntlety-epilogue-goodness head over to Ice’s site sometime ‘cuz sometime soon you’ll be able to check out some of my eps over there.

Epilogues, Image Gallery, Sprite Gallery, Guide, Downloads

Another week, another update.

Well I am pleased to announce our counter has reached 100,000 hits today! Breaking 6 digits feels really good to me and I thank all my loyal viewers for support.

Series 4 of the epilogues continues with War Between Wilys. The Mechanical Maniacs finally face off with the powerful True Chimeraman!

The Image Gallery receives an update in the “Others” section. A picture of Megaman cosplay I took when I was at Anime North a few weeks ago. A kid dressed as the original Megaman. While the helmet isn’t quite right, it’s still …. adorable really.

The Sprite Gallery has seen another update. Specifically the sprite group shot. It now goes up to Megaman Zero 2 including even those stupid resistance guys.

A new Gauntlet’s Guide has been posted. My guide to why I consider games like Megaman PC in continuity. See, the vast majority of people I talked to seem to regard those types of games with disdain and not even Capcom products, really …… so I decided to write my opinion. Kind of the minority report of the MMC.

Finally, I have added a new section in the rightframe. The Downloads section. It WAS in the miscellaneous section once, but no one really figured to look there.

Finally, I would like to announce a victory in the team-scene. I have managed to un-hack Ice’s Eye-Lephant account. So Ice now has access to it and the last of the whole “hacking” thing has been wiped clean. Huzzah!

Image Gallery, epilogues, Manga scans, Pirate games

Another monster update this week. The Image Gallery has been updated with the EXE cards created by members of Viral Infection. View that in the sprite section of the individual galleries right at the top of the page. Side note: I MUST reorganize that dang image gallery!

More Viral Infection content has been salvaged this week. The rest of the manga scans have been uploaded into the manga gallery, including ones I PLANNED to post at VI, but never had a chance to.

The epilogues section has been updated this week (of course). This time with one done by me … again!

The pirates page has also been updated with a couple new carts. A new Thunder Blast Man and Rockman 1 find. Worth a look.

Some news for you Sinister Six fans out there: It’s not dead. Ice and I have just about finished all the IMPORTANT files and it’s all set once Zero X Phoenix is ready to give Ice his hosting (and if there was any doubt of that happening before, with the closing of Megaman Masters and Zero Forever, that doubt has surely been erased.) So, stay tuned.

**Update a few hours later**

Took a few hours and really went through the galleries. Now their MUCH more organized!

Good news, mangas

Y’know, this hacker thing reminds me of an old Chinese story. “A man once found a wild horse. He thinks this is good, but the old man says ‘wait and see’. The man tries to tame the animal, but breaks his arm. He says

this is bad fortune, but the old man says, ‘wait and see’. Soon a war starts and, because of his broken arm, the man doesn’t have to fight.”

Similarly, Ice’s account was hacked. Pretty bad. But then, he finds he has all the backups. Plus he gets offered hosting on a GOOD server. And he gets help from his friends getting his site more organized than ever before. Which is good. Moral is? The Xtreme Team’s so incompetent that even when they try to hurt someone, they end up helping them.

The Sinister Six is alive on one of Ice’s OTHER accounts so, hooray for him. The Xtreme Team wasn’t too thorough in their little job. Not only did they miss this account, but they also missed ANOTHER of his accounts. Needless to say, we’ve changed the information needed to log into them. Relatively soon, Ice will be out and about.

People have been asking for the proof we have that those Xtreme people are behind this. Well, logically, there’s only one group that hates both me AND Ice and that’s the Xtreme Team. Next, they wrote something not only on the mainpage, but also in the guestbook, claiming responsibility and threatening to “hack” me (har har). Add tot he fact that I’ve constantly been getting spammed by them (although I rarely complain), YES it is those losers.

In content news (that actually relates to THIS site) I’ve uploaded some old Viral Infection content in way of manga images. The 80 (or so) images of minor enemies and robot masters. Very nifty. Manga images can be found in the image gallery.

Sad news, affiliates

Some sad news in the community. The Sinister Six was hacked yesterday. Ice lost many files and alotta work. Fortunately, I had a plan and was able to save all the HTML including his famous epilogues! Zero X Phoenix also offered him hosting (like my site) and so he may return greater than before! The “hackers” who claim responsibility are none other than the Xtreme Team. Their leader XT Gemini has had it in for me for years and now he’s taking it out on my friends! Why not e-mail him or go to the XT forum and tell these guys exactly what you think of them. Meanwhile, I’ll be helping Ice rebuild.

Also, I’ve added some affiliates.

Epilogue Character Quiz, MIDI Boom Box, images

A joint project with Gary of the Sinister Six, we created a “Which epilogue character Would You Be?’ quiz! It encompasses both our epilogue series and even some of the X-Force. A must-see for both fans of our epilogues … and fans of quizzes! And if you’re a fan of neither, well …. check it out anyway!!! You can find it either on the left frame or the Epilogues section!

The MIDI Boom Box has been updated with MIDIs taken from our pals, the late Cossack’s Creations. Since Skull founded this site, I don’t think he’d mind us using his MIDIs. We were good friends before he had to leave the community. Also added is something I’ve been waiting to add for a long, long time……. credits for the MIDIs. They are listed in the player. I see writing these MIDIs as difficult to do as drawing a picture and the authors deserve credit, so contributers are listed. I would have done so sooner, but I didn’t have the right program to let me make MIDIs before.

Added more images to the gallery. This time one of Lennon Forte Chan drew, and a variant colored version which Lennon colored. I also added screen shots of the MMX Beta once featured in Nintendo Power. Good show!

Also, Sparkman, if you’r reading this, I’ve been trying to get ahold of you for quite a while now! So, I’m asking you to drop me a line. Very important.

Epilogue, image, links

What two weeks! Jesus mercy, it’s like all the little stresses that could happen DID happen!

Well, Iceman both left and then triumphantly returned after getting an e-mail virus. Forte Chan (with no small amount of help from me *I brag*) managed to cheer him up.

Also up is a shiney new epilogue by myself! Rita Repulsa Strikes Back! A surefire classic!

Also, be sure to check out my section over at Lysekoid’s Mega Land (link in links section). I posted some really rare sprites that I’ve been boasting of for a few weeks. Unused srpites! Quint and MM3 guys from MM2 GB! Unused Protoman from MM3! A hidden weapon energy bar in all SNES MMX games! And talking sprites of Doctor Light from MM1! Nice for looking at.

Various link updates. Added one to “pages I like, but by people I dunno” about Thundercats.

Needlegal drew a picture of herself as a little kid. You can see that in the image gallery.

(slight X6 spoiler)

I also updated the huge MM sprite image in the image gallery once again. It now includes all the PET owners and The Black Devil, some EXE 2 guys (“borrowed” from Heatman) and X6 people “borrowed” from Sivak. SO, sprites needed for a more updated picture:

More RF Wonderswan guys
The other EXE2 guys
The damn X virus!
The hurt Reploids in X6
I may have missed a few more ……. I dunno.

Epilogue

A new epilogue has been posted. It is, naturally, in the epilogues section. Worth a look!

I also added a comet cursor that I find quite appealing. Yay for us!

Also, it was a year this day I took over as leader of the Mechanical Maniacs! Time flies, eh?

Remember to head over to the Sinister Six’s page to check out Ice new epilogue. He even received a little help from a mysterious “someone” in writing it! But who could have aided him? Well, I’m sure SOMEBODY could venture a guess!

An hour later…… a new update! I’ve decided that the sprites section takes up much too much space and bandwidth for this site. In fact, that is the third most large section behind the epilogues folder and the images folder. And it is frequently viewed. Therefore I am moving all my sprites onto a remote server to solve this problem. Hopefully I can do this smoothly. If you see a few broken sprite images, then the bandwidth on the other server has screwed me over or there’s a broken link.
