Decommissioned Art and Team Shachi Sprites

More from Raijin’s Ascendant Android pitch. Decommissioned Chargeman is nigh-unrecognizable! And we’re meeting the first of the mysterious Descendants – Cable Nightshade!

And here’s an obsessively complete Team Shachi’s Rocket Queen sprite rip! Every sprite from the game – hero and enemy – alongside tilesets used in the game! But that’s not all! No, there’s cutscene images as well! Cutscenes in the game are actually videos with corrupted sprites. They look alright just to watch on Youtube or in the game, but zooming in reveals artifacting. These rips are as close to official as I could get, painstakingly recreating the corrupted sprites pixel-by-pixel. It took months to make, even without the months long break in between start and completion. Why? Just because I felt like it, that’s why.

This is what obsession looks like, folks!

This sheet can be found in the Miscellaneous Sprite Gallery section.

Bits and Bytes

The Epilogues may be over, but the site goes on! I’ll be posting some art for a while. This is from a series based around an unrealized story by Snakeman featuring the Ascendant Androids. It’s Gravityman with the best of his days far behind him.

Next up is a missing sprite from the dog enemy in my Megaman PC rips. Uh … oops! Submitted by Rofang.

Finally we have some images from a different version of Rockman 1 – 6 submitted by Ninjaz_1. More can be found in the article on Asian PC games. Yeah, it’s for a compilation of the original series NES games featuring art of Megaman X. VERY skeevy.

20th Anniversary Recap Conclusion

The Epilogue Summaries conclude! This time we recap Series 8.

This segment wound up having the same number of regular epilogues as Series 7, but it includes two nearly-forgotten fanfics from Series 6 – Genesis End and Working With Ghosts – buffing up it’s length. It chronicles the rebuilding of the Galactic Council and the Mechs fall from grace going from tolerated members of the Robot Police Force to wanted fugitives! This brings the summaries up to the current one which is the longest we’ve ever done. So I guess that makes up for the super short Series 7 and 8.

Finally, two Ariga-created Robot Masters done on his Twitter that I never knew existed until just a little while ago! They’re along with the rest of the Classic-based robot masters in the Megaman Soccer Conversion Revival gallery. Thanks, SlavaIG, for letting me know these guys exist.

Arching the Androids Part 3, Megaman Soccer Revival

The Ascendant Androids’ kinda sorta crossover with Darkman’s Robot Warriors concludes! At last things come to a head in this penultimate adventure branching two generations of Megaman 5 teams!

Care to follow the Ascendant Androids a bit more closely, but are totally unable to since they’ve been sort of scattered everywhere? Well, I’ve updated their epilogues page to include links to their adventures during the Business of War, their latest retro story with the Cossacks and several more recent appearances with the Mechs.

It’s a little late, but the Megaman Soccer Conversion Revival has also been updated with the original characters from Megaman 11 and Rockman Ability! This once again makes this project complete … until the next game! Or until someone convinces me Fully Charged should count as an iteration of the Classic series.

Epilogue and More

Another month, another epilogue! This time we delve into the anime cliche of characters becoming obsessed with who among them is the strongest!

In addition to that I’ve added fan made Mechanical Maniacs Moments to that page. This includes past entries to an old contest previously on the Secret page and the submission we have gotten over the years.

I’ve also added some old, overlooked art by a guy named Scorch. From … 2010!? Yeesh, I should look into my folders more often.

Megaman Soccer Conversions and More

Today sees the return of the Megaman Soccer Conversions Revival! This time with the rest of the unique characters from Archie Comics, characters from Megaman Xover and assorted others. All done up by yours truly. This batch sees some challenging designs and I’m glad I got them out of the way. I wasn’t sure if the Xover guys counted as Classic series characters at all, but in the end my very low qualifying standards for inclusion gave way.

This might actually be the final update to this. There’s just not anything else out there in relation to Classic Megaman and I don’t think the upcoming TV show counts.

Additionally I’ve uploaded even more artwork. Some featuring Mega Girl and Mega Man, Sans and Papyrus as Skeleton Joes, MM3 symbols, and older artwork of the Megaman PC robot masters.

And, last but not least, Megaman DOS sprites by Geno2925. See more in the Miscellaneous Sprite Gallery.

Starcrossed Part 2

The conclusion to the long awaited Mechanical Maniacs / Annihilation crossover! Featuring the return of the most specific of all Mechs incarnations – the Mechanical Maniacs.exe! Everyone groans as the Mechs are forced to once more don their Navi forms to team up with the Net Navis of Annihilation. Things go crazy, so check out the latest instalment for both teams – Starcrossed Part 2.

Also, some more 8-bit versions of Mechanical Maniacs (and Sinister Six) epilogue characters by geno2925. As well as Crorq’s own custom weapon – the Chicken Buster and Gravy Train! Gotta say, I love that Colonel Sanders weapon icon. That’s perfect. See more gift sprites in the Miscellaneous Sprite Gallery.

EDIT: Rai here. I actually had a few more things to add that I probably should have remembered to tell Gauntlet about before the scheduled update. Now that Starcross is all up, check out my Art Gallery for all the design sketches I could dig up from when I started planning versions of this story way back in 2008. I’ve also updated the Navi Marks page with the symbols of all the Crossed characters. I also quietly added marks for Mighty No.9 characters a couple months ago, right after the game’s release. Kinda just wanted to slide those in there without making a big deal about it.

Taiwanese PC Games Found

That’s right, not only have I found all the Taiwanese PC games, but I’ve also put the graphics in the gallery. I wish I could be more excited about it, but that sheet up there really is the most exciting things about the find.

Some of the dash images are mirrored and rotated for some reason. There’s too many for me to sift through and they’re inconsistent at that. I eliminated the vast majority of uninteresting images and tried to separate everything out nicely. So, view the galleries for:

Rockman’s IQ Challenge
Rockman Dash: To Save The World Adventure
Rockman X Mathematics Tornado
Rockman’s IQ Challenge – junk
Rockman X Mathematics Tornado – junk
Rockman Dash: To Save The World Adventure – junk

And download the games for yourselves here!

More Soccer Sprites

The Megaman Soccer Conversions Revival sees another update – this time featuring characters form the Sonic crossover! I made most of these, but Radix helped out as well. I also revised The version at the Sinister Six as well, removing most of the new addition there. It feels wrong to constantly update the S6, so I kept the sprites that seemed within the confines of his project and removed the rest.

Raijin has a good thing going with his AXE farewell story, so I’ll leave the updates to him for a time …. and prepare more of my own. And if there’s ever more new characters added to the Classic Megaman canon you can bet there’ll be another Soccer Conversions update!
